Ukraine and Romania: Strengthening Defense Cooperation

Ukraine has proposed new joint projects with Romania in the areas of air defense, maritime drones, and artillery.
Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Serhiy Boyev, traveled to Romania to explore opportunities for military-technical cooperation.
The visit aimed to discuss with Romanian Defense Minister Liviu-Ionut Mozshtanu the strengthening of bilateral defense relations.
The parties reviewed steps to enhance collaboration in defense production, joint military research projects, and training programs for armed forces.
They also discussed the potential for joint production of munitions and FPV drones. The Ukrainian side expressed interest in implementing projects in air defense, maritime drones, and artillery.
They agreed to continue dialogue to finalize these projects ahead of the SAFE initiative funding application deadline. 
Romanian Defense Minister Liviu-Ionut Mozshtanu emphasized, "Romania remains committed to supporting Ukraine. We are interested in increasing regional production capabilities and modernizing the defense industry through joint projects."
The parties agreed to intensify contacts at the technical and institutional levels and to organize regular bilateral meetings focused on defense industry matters. 
In September, it was announced that Romania plans to produce defense drones in collaboration with Ukraine.
