Meeting Between Ukraine's President and Danish Minister
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a significant meeting with Denmark’s Minister of Industry, Business, and Finance, Morten Bødskov.
The President expressed sincere gratitude to Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and the Danish people for their unwavering support for Ukraine amid the ongoing Russian aggression.
«We are hopeful for continued support and strengthening of our relations. The Danish model of cooperation has sent a message to other countries and has helped us enhance our production of drones and missiles. Thank you for your efforts», – emphasized the President.
Zelensky also highlighted the importance of Denmark's presidency in the EU Council and its support for Ukraine's aspirations to join the European Union. He noted that Ukraine hopes for progress on these matters.
«It is a great honor for us to be here with the largest Danish business delegation ever to visit Ukraine. Our delegation consists of approximately 150 individuals representing business and government, all here to explore new collaboration opportunities», – stated the minister.
The President also underscored the importance of Denmark's decision on joint weapon production. Zelensky and Bødskov discussed the continuation of defense cooperation, including financing and insurance mechanisms. They also addressed the export of Ukrainian weapons and readiness to open export platforms, particularly in Europe.
The parties discussed the situation concerning drones that violated Danish airspace three times in September and shared experiences in protecting critical infrastructure. The President affirmed Ukraine's readiness to assist and share its expertise.
Additionally, they talked about the reconstruction of Ukraine, specifically Denmark’s patronage over the Mykolaiv region and potential future projects. The minister assured that major Danish companies are ready to participate in the rebuilding efforts.
Before the meeting commenced, the President received credentials from the newly appointed Danish Ambassador, Thomas Lund-Sørensen, congratulating him on the start of his diplomatic mission in Ukraine.
