Ukraine Month in the UAE: New Avenues for Cooperation

In January 2026, an event dedicated to Ukraine will take place in the United Arab Emirates. This was announced by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, following a meeting with the UAE's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Her Excellency Reem Al Hashimy.

The parties discussed opportunities for cooperation in security, economic, and humanitarian fields.

"We outlined a roadmap for further interaction, including the celebration of Ukraine Month in the UAE, which will serve as a significant platform to showcase our achievements", Umerov stated.

He expressed gratitude to the UAE for its consistent humanitarian support to Ukraine since 2022 and for assistance in the repatriation of Ukrainian citizens.

The Secretary emphasized that Ukraine is open to partnerships with countries that share the vision of stability and security.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal and UAE Deputy Defense Minister, Lieutenant General Ibrahim Naser Al-Alawi, discussed further steps to enhance the security of both nations.
