Meeting Between Danish Prime Minister and Ukrainian President
On Wednesday, September 3rd, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen held a significant meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Mariienborg.
This information was announced by Frederiksen's office on social media platform X.
«I recently had the honor of welcoming President Zelensky to my official residence in Mariienborg ahead of the summit of Northern European and Baltic countries. The primary aim of our meeting was to discuss additional support for Ukraine», the statement read.
Frederiksen noted that the Northern European and Baltic countries are key players in supporting Ukraine's defense efforts. «I am pleased that we can gather in Mariienborg to reaffirm our unwavering support for Ukraine and to increase pressure on Russia», she added.
She emphasized that Ukrainians demonstrate «incredible strength and the ability to defend their homeland» amidst ongoing aggression from Russian President Vladimir Putin.
«The response to Russia's aggression is not only about Ukraine's security. It is also about the security of Europe and the world order as we know it. Only with a strong Europe and a strong Ukraine can we achieve lasting peace», she concluded.
