Visit to Japan: New Avenues of Collaboration
During her visit to Japan, Ukraine's First Lady Olena Zelenska, along with the team from the Olena Zelenska Foundation, held crucial meetings with representatives of the Japanese government and business sector.
Notably, discussions took place with Katsura Miyazaki, the first Executive Vice President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA); Hiroshi Nojima, President of Nojima Corporation; Hiroshi Mikitani, founder of Rakuten Group; and the management of Daiwa House.
At the meeting, the president of Nojima Corporation announced a contribution of 200 million yen for projects aimed at supporting children.
Rakuten Group also expressed interest in supporting the Foundation's projects, and cooperation details are being finalized.
Olena Zelenska thanked the Japanese companies and JICA for their continued support of Ukraine.
«The restoration of Ukraine is not just about infrastructure; it's fundamentally about people, especially children who deserve to grow up in a safe environment. I hope these meetings will mark the beginning of fruitful collaboration for the support of our society», the First Lady stated.
The Foundation's team presented their activities and key projects, including building shelters in schools, establishing Superhero Schools in hospitals, providing students with gadgets for remote learning, and constructing homes for large foster families who have lost their homes. A new project was also introduced – youth psychosocial support spaces for teenagers and young adults called «12–21».
