Ukrainian Defense Minister Denis Shmyhal and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte met under the 'Ramstein' initiative to discuss new ways to support Ukraine, including the purchase of American weapons such as Patriot systems.
This was reported by Shmyhal in his statement.
Direct quote from Shmyhal: "We also talked about new opportunities for allies to procure American weaponry, including Patriot systems, for Ukraine."
He expressed gratitude to all countries willing to support this initiative.
It is worth mentioning that earlier, during the 'Ramstein' Contact Group meeting held via video on July 21, Shmyhal pointed out that Ukraine needs $6 billion to meet military procurement needs in 2025 and to shift the war back to Russian territory.
