Lithuanian Drones for Ukraine: New Horizons
The Radarom! campaign from Lithuania, initiated in February this year, has united efforts to support Ukraine by acquiring over 2600 drones for Ukrainian military forces.
According to LRT, the total amount of funds raised has surpassed 4.4 million euros, enabling the supply of thousands of unmanned aerial vehicles to Ukraine's defenders.
Recent data indicates that 2,609 drones have been purchased, with an advance payment made for an additional 320 Lithuanian drones. A total of 2.6 million euros has been spent on drone production, while 1.7 million euros has been allocated for equipment for Ukrainian manufacturers.
"Thanks to the efforts of the Lithuanian people, we can contribute to Ukraine's defense, which is our top priority. We are closely monitoring the process of using the donations and reporting to the public on their usage. Trust is our highest value, and we are committed to acting responsibly and transparently," stated Monica Garbaciauskaite-Budriene, the CEO of LRT.
About two-thirds of all aid has been allocated to Lithuanian production, with the rest going towards purchasing Ukrainian drones and equipment. Initially, Ukrainian drones were more prevalent due to quicker supply chains, but now results from Lithuanian manufacturers are becoming evident.
The third Radarom! campaign was organized by LRT in collaboration with Blue/Yellow, Laisvės TV, and Stiprūs kartu from February 3 to 24. During the campaign, residents and companies in Lithuania donated over 5 million euros.
Additionally, it was noted that from July 14, a two-month charity campaign called Dronaton will commence in Lithuania, initiated by the non-governmental organization Blue/Yellow with the goal of raising 1 million euros to purchase drones for Ukrainian defenders.
