By the end of 2025, Ukraine plans to establish new embassies in Latin American countries, including the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Panama, and Uruguay.
This was announced by Andriy Sybiha, Ukraine's Minister of Foreign Affairs, during the annual meeting of heads of diplomatic missions.
He pointed out that, in addition to the new embassies, Ukraine will also reduce its diplomatic presence in Cuba to redirect resources for strengthening positions in other countries in the region.
Moreover, plans are in place to open over 10 new consulates by the end of the year in countries such as Romania, Iraq, Italy, Germany, Slovakia, as well as two in France and Poland. Additionally, the consulates in Antalya and Gdansk will be elevated to the status of general consulates.
