Strengthening Defense Cooperation Between Ukraine and Germany
German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul confirmed that a delegation from the defense industry has arrived in Kyiv.
He made this statement during a press conference with his Ukrainian counterpart Andriy Sybiha in Kyiv on Monday, June 30, reports a correspondent from "European Truth".
Wadephul stated that during his visit, agreements were made to enhance cooperation in the defense sector between Ukraine and Germany.
"Our aim is to establish new joint ventures, enabling Ukraine to produce more and faster for its own defense, as your needs are significant," he emphasized.
Thus, the German Foreign Minister noted that it was the first time he brought a delegation from the defense industry to Kyiv.
"Our collaboration in the defense area is a real asset. It is a logical extension of our material supplies, and we can derive mutual benefits from this, as your ingenuity and experience also make us better. We see our role as helping Ukraine negotiate from a position of strength," Wadephul stressed.
When asked about the specific nature of the expected defense cooperation, Wadephul did not provide a direct answer.
"I believe we are entering a new phase of collaboration, and we need greater involvement of German companies in Ukraine. There is a readiness for this, but we need to overcome some bureaucratic hurdles and other issues in cooperation," he stated.
Therefore, he mentioned that he brought "representatives of the defense industry to the President of Ukraine to discuss these matters".
"I believe that closer cooperation in this regard aligns with the interests of both parties," he added.
The German Foreign Minister also emphasized that when Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin talks about peace, it is pure bluff.
"His supposed willingness for negotiations is merely a facade. He clearly stated again that he intends to conquer all of Ukraine and simultaneously intimidate all of Europe," he added.
