Germany's Commitment to Ukraine: Military Support and Investments

During the 70th anniversary celebration of Germany's NATO membership in Brussels, President Frank-Walter Steinmeier stated that Germany will continue to support Ukraine militarily while also investing in its own armed forces.

Details: "We will remain the strongest support for Ukraine in Europe, advocating for its freedom, sovereignty, and European future," Steinmeier emphasized.
"As Putin's war against Ukraine continues unabated, Germany finds itself in a crucial position. Therefore, I reach out to you and your allies not only with gratitude but with a call for immediate action," he noted.
"Germany is being called to act – and we have heard this call, we understand the message," he added, assuring NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte that "you can count on us".
"We will continue to strengthen our armed forces – the Bundeswehr – and increase investments in our defense industry. We are committed to fulfilling our obligations under NATO's regional plans," the German president concluded.
