Turkey has successfully completed the initial phase of the Sakarya gas field development located in the Black Sea. The daily gas production has reached a record 9.5 million cubic meters.
This was announced by the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey, Alparslan Bayraktar, on the social media platform X, as reported by Ukrinform.
“The first phase of the Sakarya gas field has been completed. We have achieved a daily production of 9.5 million cubic meters,” the minister stated.
He also emphasized that this volume of natural gas is sufficient to supply 4 million households, and efforts to increase production will continue.

The United States has agreed to extend the sanctions exemption, allowing Turkey to continue purchasing Russian natural gas.
