Emergency rescuers from the State Emergency Service (SES) successfully brought to the surface workers from two mines in Kryvyi Rih, who found themselves trapped underground due to power outages caused by Russian shelling. This was reported by the SES press service.
As a result of a drone attack on January 22, one of the mines lost power: miners were trapped at depths of -1135 m, -865 m, and -475 m.
"Accompanied by specialists from the SES, the miners traversed nearly 7 kilometers of underground workings. The rescue operation lasted 6 hours," the statement said.
After midnight, another mine stopped due to another power outage, where 92 workers were present.
"Rescuers operated according to a proven plan: miners were lifted to the surface using the counterweight of the mine hoist. They completed the task in 4 hours," the statement added.
All miners were safely brought to the surface.
