Drone Attack: New Insights on Enemy UAV Destruction
Thanks to air defense, 76 out of 101 drones attacking Ukraine were neutralized on the night of January 23. Nineteen strike UAVs were recorded hitting 12 locations. This was reported by the Command of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.
“On the night of January 22 to 23 (from 20:00 January 22), the enemy launched an attack with 101 strike UAVs of the Shahed type (including reactive), “Gerbera,” and other drones from the directions: Kursk, Oryol, Shatalovo, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk – RF, Donetsk - TOT Ukraine, about 60 of them being “Shaheds,” the statement reads.
The assault was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
As of 08:00, preliminary data indicates that 76 enemy UAVs of the Shahed, “Gerbera,” and other types were shot down or suppressed by air defense.

The attack continues, with several enemy UAVs remaining in the airspace.
Total combat losses of Russian troops from February 24, 2022, to January 23, 2026, in the war against Ukraine amount to about 1,232,090 personnel, including 1,280 personnel lost in the previous day.
