Defense Forces Neutralize Drones in Latest Attack
The air defense forces successfully neutralized 84 out of 97 drones used by Russian forces to attack Ukraine on the evening of January 20. This was reported by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine via Telegram.
At 6:00 PM on January 20, the enemy launched an attack with a ballistic missile "Iskander-M" from temporarily occupied Crimea, along with 97 strike drones of types Shahed, "Gerbera" and other variants from various directions: Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, Primorsk-Akhtarsk (RF), Chauda (Crimea), and temporarily occupied Donetsk, with approximately 70 of them being "Shaheds".
The aerial assault was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and unmanned systems, as well as mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
As of 8:30 AM on Wednesday, January 21, the air defense reported the downing of 84 drones in the northern, southern, and eastern regions of the country.
Impacts of the ballistic missile and 13 strike drones were recorded at 11 locations, with debris from downed drones found at one site.
The attack continues, with several enemy drones still in the airspace.
On the night of January 21, Russian forces launched a missile strike on Kryvyi Rih.
