Successful Defense Against Drone Attacks on Ukraine

The air defense forces effectively neutralized 70 out of 97 drones used by Russian troops to attack Ukraine on the evening of January 7. This was reported by the Ukrainian Armed Forces Air Force via Telegram.
Starting from 19:00 on Wednesday, January 7, Russian forces launched an assault using 97 strike UAVs, including types such as Shahed, "Gerbera", and other drone models from the directions of: Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (RF), Chauda, Gvardeyskoye (temporarily occupied Crimea), and temporarily occupied Donetsk. Approximately 70 of these were Shahed type drones.
The air assault was countered by aviation, missile defense units, electronic warfare divisions, drone systems, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine's defense forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 08:00 on Thursday, January 8, the air defense forces shot down 70 other types of drones in the eastern and southern regions of Ukraine.
There were 27 hits recorded from strike UAVs across 13 locations, along with debris from shot-down drones falling at one location.
