Ukraine's Defense Forces Neutralize Drone Attacks
The Ukrainian Armed Forces successfully intercepted 63 out of 82 drones launched by Russian forces targeting Ukraine on the evening of December 17. This was reported by the Air Force of Ukraine in their latest Telegram update.
According to the information, starting from 18:00 on Wednesday, December 17, the Russian military deployed 82 strike drones of various models, including Shahed and others, from locations such as Milleryovo, Kursk, Orel, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk (RF). Approximately 50 of these were Shahed drones.
Ukraine's defense forces, including aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups, successfully repelled the attack.
Preliminary data as of 08:30 on Thursday, December 18, indicates that the air defense has downed or suppressed 63 drones across different regions of the country.
Nineteen strike drones were recorded at 12 locations, with debris falling at eight sites.
The attack is ongoing, with several enemy drones remaining in the airspace.
In Cherkasy, six people were injured due to the Russian drone attack on the night of December 18, and part of the city is without power.
