On October 23, as part of repatriation efforts, Ukraine received 1000 remains, which according to the Russian side belong to Ukrainian soldiers. This information was reported by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.
Experts and investigators from the Ministry of Internal Affairs will conduct all necessary examinations for the identification of the repatriated remains soon.
The repatriation process involved the Coordination Headquarters, the Joint Center of the Security Service, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Office of the Human Rights Commissioner, the Secretariat of the Commissioner for Missing Persons in Special Circumstances, the State Emergency Service, and other security and defense structures.
The Coordination Headquarters also expressed gratitude to the International Committee of the Red Cross for their assistance.
The Armed Forces are facilitating the transport of repatriated remains to state specialized institutions and organizing the transfer of the deceased to law enforcement and forensic services within the Ministry of Health.
