In the Pokrovsk region of Donetsk, Ukrainian forces have made progress, advancing up to 1.6 kilometers in some directions, as reported by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi.
«Despite the enemy's unsuccessful attempts to advance, our troops conducted search and destroy missions over a territory of 3.4 km² in the Pokrovsk area yesterday. Assault units have advanced up to 1.6 km», he stated in his Facebook post.
According to Syrskyi, as of the morning of October 13, a total of 182.4 km² of territory has been liberated during the Dobropillia operation, with 224.7 km² – «cleared of enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups».
British intelligence observations cited in September indicated that Pokrovsk remains a key logistical hub in Donetsk, hindering Russian advances further into the region and towards Kramatorsk and Sloviansk.
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi stated on October 1 that Ukrainian forces have cut through the so-called «Dobropillia bulge» of Russian troops.
