Night Missile Attacks on Ukraine: New Casualties and Presidential Response
Once again, Ukraine faced a large-scale missile attack from Russia, involving over 50 missiles and around 500 drones. The strikes included cruise missiles, Shahed drones, and Kinzhal missiles. Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zaporizhzhia, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, Odesa, and Kirovohrad regions were heavily targeted.
Currently, around 10 individuals are reported injured due to the attack, with five fatalities. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the families of those lost.
This information was shared by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in his address.
According to him, rescue operations are ongoing in the affected areas. The President is receiving regular updates from Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko, Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksiy Kuleba, and other officials.
“I expect prompt and effective governmental action to address the aftermath of the attacks,” said Zelensky.
The President emphasized that Russian forces have once again targeted Ukraine's infrastructure, which is vital for the normal lives of people.
“There is a need for increased protection, and quicker implementation of all defense agreements, especially regarding air defense, to put an end to this aerial terror. A unilateral ceasefire in the sky is possible and could pave the way for genuine diplomacy. America and Europe must act to compel Putin to halt,” stressed Volodymyr Zelensky.
