Zelensky Calls for Extended Ceasefire
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky commented on Russian dictator Vladimir Putin's proposal for a "ceasefire" from May 8 to May 10, stating that Ukraine needs not a temporary "ceasefire" for a parade in Moscow, but a complete and unconditional ceasefire for at least 30 days.

Details: In his address, the president emphasized that Ukraine has never sought this war and is ready to cooperate with all partners to establish peace and ensure security. Meanwhile, Russia continuously rejects such initiatives and manipulates the international community, attempting to deceive, particularly the United States.
According to the president, the ceasefire must not be temporary and for Russia's convenience, but immediate, complete, and unconditional, for at least 30 days.
Direct quote: "Once again, there is an attempt at manipulation: for some reason, everyone is expected to wait until May 8 to then ceasefire, to provide Putin with quiet for the parade.
We value human lives, not parades. That is why we believe – the world believes – there is no reason to wait until May 8. The fire must be stopped not for a few days to then kill again. An immediate, complete, and unconditional ceasefire for at least 30 days is what can provide a foundation for real diplomacy."
