A Historic Meeting: Bill Gates and Linus Torvalds Unite

Recently, a remarkable event took place where Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft, and Linus Torvalds, the creator of the Linux kernel, met for the first time. This occasion occurred at a dinner hosted by Mark Russinovich, the founder of Sysinternals.

Also present was Dave Cutler, a technical fellow at Microsoft and the chief architect of Windows NT, who also had his first conversation with Torvalds. Russinovich humorously noted that "no important kernel decisions were made".

Although historically Windows and Linux have been seen as rivals, Microsoft has been actively integrating Linux support into its ecosystem in recent years, particularly through the Windows Subsystem for Linux.
