Psychologists' Forum: New Horizons in Psychosocial Support
The 'Mental Guard' forum gathered around 500 professionals, including psychologists working in schools and specialists from regional education departments and inclusive resource centers. This was announced by Deputy Chairman of the Kyiv City State Administration, Petro Olenych, during the event held in Kyiv.
«As part of our project, we focus on crisis response teams that provide numerous on-site visits and online consultations to assist teachers. Together with the Kyiv team, we continue to enhance digital services for mental health», – noted Olenych.
The forum is part of a joint initiative by the city authority and the Klitschko Foundation.
«The 'Mental Guard' project exemplifies effective collaboration between a charity organization and city administration, allowing us to support the capital's community. The full-scale war has posed serious challenges for children who must adapt to the current anxieties. Our mission is to support them and provide hope for a better future. Involving psychologists to address crisis situations and working with teachers who are constantly alongside their students is the best strategy. In just six months, over 2500 teachers have completed the 'Mental Guard' training. I hope Kyiv can set an example for other regions in this experience», – emphasized Angelina Osadcha, director of the Klitschko Foundation.
The forum is just one part of the extensive 'Mental Guard' project. It includes rapid psychological support teams that promptly respond to schools in cases of conflict or emergencies. In just one month, these mobile psychological teams conducted 20 visits, with most requests for help arising from shelling in the capital.
Recall that the 'Mental Guard' project launched in April 2024, implemented in cooperation with the Klitschko Foundation and the Department of Education and Science of the Kyiv City State Administration.
