Life Sentences for Couple in Gruesome Murder Case
A court in Germany has sentenced a couple to life imprisonment for the brutal murder of a Ukrainian woman and her mother, as well as for abducting a child, reports DW.

The court determined that the couple intended to pass off one of the victim's children as their own, marking their guilt as particularly grave.
This means that parole after 15 years is virtually impossible for the convicted.
However, the court's decision can still be appealed.
At the start of the trial, the man and woman confessed to the crime.
They murdered two Ukrainians to seize a newborn child.
What to Know About the Murder of Two Ukrainians in Germany
In March of this year, near Hockenheim along the Rhine River, the body of 27-year-old Margarita Razaz from Kharkiv was found. She had been living in a refugee center with her mother and newborn daughter. The little girl, Mia, was soon located.
Her grandmother, 51-year-old Marina Stetsenko, was initially reported missing and later found dead in a lake near Bad Schönborn.
Suspects in the case are a 43-year-old Russian woman and a 44-year-old German man. According to investigators, they killed the girl's mother and grandmother to take the child for themselves, luring the refugees with promises of help in obtaining documents in Germany.
