Emergency Power Cuts in Ukraine: Impacts and Reasons
In Ukraine, emergency power restrictions were implemented due to a massive missile attack from the aggressor, which occurred early on February 11, as reported by Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko.
Where were the cuts applied?
According to him, the enemy struck critical gas infrastructure at night and continued targeting energy facilities in the morning.
“To minimize potential adverse effects on the energy system, the transmission system operator is urgently implementing electricity restriction measures,” Halushchenko noted.
The company “Ukrenergo” confirmed the introduction of emergency power cuts and indicated that restrictions would be lifted after the air alert ends and the situation stabilizes within the energy system.
Additionally, DTEK also announced emergency electricity cuts in Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk regions.
