New Opportunities for Agricultural Sector in Ukraine
The Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers has opened up new opportunities for the agricultural sector by allowing more options for building vegetable storage facilities under the "Affordable Loans 5-7-9%" program.
This information was confirmed by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.
The government adopted the relevant resolution during a meeting on April 18.
According to the new rules, agricultural producers investing in the construction of storage facilities for vegetables and potatoes can receive state support in the form of interest rate compensation on loans up to 150 million UAH, similar to businesses in livestock and processing industries.
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy noted that due to the war and infrastructure destruction in Ukraine, the shortage of storage facilities has increased to 60%. Currently, the need for building storage facilities stands at 340,000 tons.
"This is a step towards strengthening the country's food security, which will help stabilize prices for vegetables and fruits during the off-season," emphasized Minister of Agrarian Policy Vitaliy Koval.

The Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, Vitaliy Koval, urged businesses to invest in vegetable storage facilities.
