Transforming Kyiv's Transport Network

The new bridge crossing will play a pivotal role in the evolution of the capital's transport infrastructure. The Podil Bridge currently connects both banks of Kyiv and is set to enhance the city's transport mobility in the future.

According to the Department of Transport Infrastructure of the Kyiv City State Administration, the next phase involves constructing an exit to Podil. This will help alleviate traffic congestion and improve the overall comfort of getting around the city.

Simultaneously, preparations are underway for the first phase of the construction of the Podilsko-Vyhurivska metro line, which will link both banks of the capital. The project includes building a section from the station “Hlybchytska” to the station “Raidozhna”.

The line will feature stations such as “Hlybchytska”, “Podilska”, “Raidozhna”, and three additional stations integrated into the bridge structure. Transfer hubs will be established between the stations “Lukianivska” — “Hlybchytska” and “Tarasa Shevchenka” — “Podilska”. The “Raidozhna” station will be constructed on the left bank.

Currently, a portion of the preparatory work has been completed. Following the construction of the exit to Podil, work will commence on the necessary tasks to launch the metro to Troieschyna.

As a reminder, on August 23, traffic was fully opened in both directions across the Podil bridge crossing.
