New Travel Opportunities to Europe
Today, new direct flights to Bratislava, Budapest, and Vienna commenced, marking the first step towards regular connections. A total of 280 passengers embarked on their journeys, providing Ukrainians with fresh opportunities to visit European capitals. This information was shared via Telegram by Oleksiy Kuleba, the Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction of Ukraine.
This launch signifies a new chapter in the integration of Ukraine with the European Union. Ukrainian cities now have direct rail connections to the EU, making our transportation infrastructure part of the unified European space.
Schedule:
- №961/618 Uzhhorod – Bratislava (daily)
- №146 Uzhhorod – Budapest – Vienna (daily)
Starting from December 2025, after the schedule is updated, passengers will be offered convenient connections with domestic flights, including more overnight trains. Additionally, a new route №644/647 Euro Circle: Zakhon – Berehove – Borzhava has started operating since September 12. This route will directly connect Berehove with the railway hub in Zakhon, from where trains depart throughout Hungary. The implementation of this project was made possible through the collaboration of Ukrzaliznytsia, the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine, and the support of the European Commission (Connected Europe Facility program) and the European Investment Bank.
A big thank you to the Ukrainian railway workers and our European partners who made this project possible. This is the first euro-standard railway line built from scratch in modern Ukrainian history.
