Russian Agent Arrested Among Ukrainian Armed Forces
Counterintelligence officers of the Security Service of Ukraine, in cooperation with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, have apprehended another agent of the Russian Federation attempting to undermine the Ukrainian military. This agent was mobilized from Dnipro and was involved in adjusting enemy airstrikes.
The investigation established that he was recruited by an FSB officer in the fall of 2025 after being noticed for posting pro-Kremlin comments on Telegram.
After recruitment, he was assigned to a rear military unit to spy for the enemy.
According to FSB instructions, he was to provide Russians with the coordinates of Ukrainian Armed Forces and National Guard units, preparing for missile and drone attacks.
The perpetrator filmed military facilities and marked their geolocations.
Shortly after completing his espionage tasks, he deserted the military unit and leaked its location to the FSB.
The Security Service exposed the 'mole' and meticulously documented his activities. Simultaneously, measures were taken to secure the locations of defense forces.
In the final phase of the special operation, the individual was arrested at the residence of his relatives, where he was hiding from justice.
During a search, his smartphone was seized, containing evidence of his collaboration with the enemy.
Security Service investigators have notified the agent of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason committed under martial law).
The perpetrator is in custody and faces life imprisonment with asset confiscation.
Comprehensive measures were conducted by SBU officers in the Dnipropetrovsk region under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor's office.
