A 43-year-old man in Kyiv assaulted his relative with a knife during a heated dispute, resulting in severe injuries. He faces up to 8 years in prison.
According to police reports, a 56-year-old woman sought assistance, claiming her brother had stabbed her.
Investigators learned that the man attacked his older sister with a kitchen knife to the neck during a domestic argument. The woman suffered a penetrating stab wound with arterial bleeding, while the assailant fled the scene.
Law enforcement quickly located the suspect. It is known that he has a criminal history for similar offenses.
Investigators from the Podil Police Department, under the guidance of the local prosecutor's office, charged the arrested individual under part 1 of article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — intentional grievous bodily harm, dangerous to life at the time of infliction.
The court has placed the suspect in custody. He faces a potential prison sentence of up to eight years.
