Law enforcement officials have arrested a Kyivvodokanal employee who promised a company seamless connection to the city's water supply and sewage system for 450,000 hryvnias.
The investigation by the Solomiansky District Police Department, in collaboration with the Strategic Investigations Department, halted the illegal activities of a 35-year-old official.
On September 25, police apprehended him under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine after he received 225,000 hryvnias, which is 50% of the agreed bribe. He was to receive the remaining amount after signing the contract.
The official has been charged under part 3 of Article 368-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (bribery of a legal entity's official).
The maximum penalty for this offense is up to three years in prison, with a prohibition on holding certain positions for up to two years.
The Solomiansky District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv is overseeing the proceedings.
