A corruption scheme has been uncovered in Kyiv, where an official from the Holosiivskyi District Administration promised a businessman not to obstruct his illegal operations in exchange for payment. He faces up to four years in prison for his actions.
The investigators from the Solomianskyi Police Department, with support from the SBU, revealed this criminal scheme.
It was established that the chief specialist demanded a monthly illegal benefit from an entrepreneur in exchange for allowing the operation of six trading points in the Solomianskyi and Holosiivskyi districts.
To disguise his actions, he required part of the funds to be transferred to third-party bank accounts under the guise of charitable contributions.
However, while receiving part of the cash, investigators arrested the official and informed him of the suspicion under the article on receiving illegal benefits. This article stipulates a punishment of up to four years in prison and a ban on holding certain positions for up to three years.
