Uncovering a Scheme of Illegal Vehicle Importation Under the Guise of Humanitarian Aid

Detectives from the Economic Security Bureau uncovered a fraudulent scheme regarding the importation of vehicles under the pretense of humanitarian cargo.
This was reported by the EDB press service.
The investigation revealed that the individuals involved forged requests on behalf of charitable organizations, claiming a need for vehicles for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In doing so, the criminals evaded customs duties and taxes when importing vehicles. The vehicles were sold for cash.
During sanctioned searches, detectives seized 5 vehicles registered to charitable organizations, along with documents, rough notes, computer equipment, and mobile phones.

The Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine announced the detection of tax evasion amounting to 140 million UAH by two companies within a group that sells fuel through a well-known gas station network.
