Cultural Exchange: Ukrainian Season in France
Olena Zelenska, the First Lady of Ukraine, participated in the opening of the Ukrainian Season in France alongside Brigitte Macron, the First Lady of France, Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, and Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo.
Over the next four months, Ukrainian cinema, music, literature, visual arts, and theater will be showcased across various cities in the country.
“In this challenging time for Ukraine, as we fight for our existence and our culture resonates abroad, we realize we are not alone. The values we defend are shared by the entire civilized world. That is why culture is so important. It fosters understanding through feelings and establishes dialogue even without words,” said the First Lady of Ukraine.
Olena Zelenska also noted that during her visit to France, 12 French educational institutions joined the Global Coalition of Ukrainian Studies, and 15 museums incorporated Ukrainian audio guides into their exhibits.
“Knowledge and culture can change even the toughest times. The more we learn about each other and respect our differences, the better our world becomes,” the wife of the President of Ukraine concluded.
The Ukrainian Season is organized by the French Institute and its office in Kyiv, the Ukrainian Institute and its representation in France, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, and the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs of France, along with cultural ministries and embassies of both countries.
