Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte held a meeting in Brussels to discuss the crucial enhancement of Ukraine's air defense systems. Shmyhal shared this update on his Telegram channel.
He emphasized that additional air defense systems and missiles are essential to counter the rocket and drone terror employed by Russia.
The meeting also addressed the current frontline situation and the priority needs of Ukraine's defense forces.
Both parties focused on the PURL initiative, which is vital for ensuring stable supply chains.
Shmyhal expressed gratitude to the NATO Secretary General for his leadership and support. He highlighted that Ukraine continues to adapt its defense sector to NATO standards and principles and is implementing joint projects with international partners.
It is worth noting that in Brussels, Shmyhal also attended a meeting of the EU Council on Foreign Affairs, discussing collaborative actions to strengthen resilience in Ukraine and throughout Europe.
