The defense ministers of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, and Norway, Tore Sandvik, have signed an agreement on joint drone production. Shmyhal announced this on his Facebook page.
«Ukraine and Norway will collaboratively produce drones. This document, signed with Norwegian Defense Minister Tore Sandvik, marks a significant step in enhancing our defense capabilities», Shmyhal stated.
He noted that the next phase involves quickly launching a pilot production line in 2026 while concurrently working to increase production capacity.
«Ukraine will share its expertise and innovations with Norway. In return, we will gain a robust manufacturing platform to supply our soldiers with modern drones, as well as research and development collaboration with leading Norwegian institutions», Shmyhal emphasized.
He expressed gratitude to Norway for its support of Ukraine and remarked: «This project exemplifies the partnership we are building with allies: cooperation that strengthens the defense capabilities of all free world nations».
