Syrian Government Delegation Visits Ukraine

A government delegation from Syria is currently in Ukraine.
This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andriy Sybiha, during the opening of the IV International Summit on Food Security «Food from Ukraine».
Sybiha reminded that he was the first European foreign minister to visit Syria after the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime.
«I am very pleased to welcome the Syrian delegation today, consisting of high-ranking officials and government representatives. This visit is significant for us. It was driven by the same principle: providing food to those who need it most,» said the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
The minister noted that Ukraine has supplied food to Syria free of charge with the help of the United Kingdom, Germany, Norway, and international organizations and will continue to do so.
It is worth noting that following talks in New York with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa, Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Ukraine and Syria signed a Joint Communiqué on the restoration of diplomatic relations. In December 2024, Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food Vitaliy Koval stated that Ukraine is ready to supply food to Syria after the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime.
