The Estonian government is set to allocate €3 million to support the Starlink satellite communication project for Ukraine. Defense Minister Denis Shmyhal announced this after a meeting with his Estonian counterpart Hanno Pevkur.
During the meeting, topics such as strengthening air defense, drone production, and the establishment of joint defense enterprises were discussed. Shmyhal expressed gratitude for Estonia's participation in PURL and Ukraine's readiness to engage in SAFE projects that will foster mutual development of defense capacities.
The minister also highlighted the importance of training Ukrainian soldiers within the framework of the Legio operation.
He thanked Estonia for the proposal to allocate €3 million for the purchase and support of Starlink systems.
"We will continue to insist on the confiscation of frozen Russian assets — the aggressor must pay for its actions," he added.
