Collaboration with IMF: Key Issues for Regional Recovery
Deputy Prime Minister for Recovery Oleksiy Kuleba held a meeting with representatives from the International Monetary Fund, discussing crucial aspects of future cooperation to support regions.
He shared this update on his Telegram channel.
«I discussed key topics with the IMF delegation led by Gavin Gray that influence the stability of the country and the daily lives of citizens», he noted.
Kuleba emphasized that the primary focus was on supporting regions severely affected, where over 75% of the destruction has been recorded, as well as comprehensive recovery of devastated settlements.
One of the topics of discussion was ensuring a stable heating season. He stressed the need for sustainable support mechanisms for heating utilities and informed partners about the government's efforts to address tariff discrepancies.
«What is needed is not a temporary solution, but a comprehensive program that will allow not only to settle accumulated debts but also to establish a new model for the industry. It must eliminate imbalances, introduce clear rules, and transparent mechanisms», he added.
Additionally, meeting participants thoroughly discussed the reform of public investment management, which opens up opportunities for communities to implement development projects transparently. They also addressed the issues of the banking sector's functioning and the development of Ukrposhta, which carries out social missions in frontline areas.
