Norway to Continue Its Support for Ukraine in 2026

Norway intends to maintain a high level of support for Ukraine next year, allocating approximately $8.5 billion for this purpose.

This was announced by Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre during a joint press conference in Kyiv with President Volodymyr Zelensky.

«Today, I announced that Norway will continue its high level of support for Ukraine in 2026, amounting to $8.5 billion, which I will propose to parliament,» Støre said.

He added that the Norwegian parliament has previously unanimously supported the Nansen program, which is dedicated to assisting refugees and their integration into Norwegian society, and expressed confidence that Norway will be able to maintain its support at a high level.

Støre also noted that Norway considers strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities a key security guarantee and acts in response to Ukraine's needs.

In this context, he reminded that Norway, together with Germany, co-finances two Patriot systems, including missiles, helps to counter drone and missile attacks, and invests in the Ukrainian industry for effective military equipment production.
