Ukraine and Bulgaria Discuss EU Integration Talks
Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko met with her Bulgarian counterpart Rosen Zhelyazkov to discuss Ukraine's preparations for opening negotiation clusters for European integration.
She shared this information on her Telegram account.
«I had a productive meeting with Bulgarian Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov. Ukraine has fulfilled all technical requirements and is ready to initiate negotiations with the EU on the first three clusters: «Foundations», «Internal Market», and «External Relations». We hope that by early September, the EU will make a decision to open the first cluster. This will be a significant step in supporting our country on the path to Eurointegration. We also emphasize the importance of Ukraine and Moldova moving forward together, and we appreciate Bulgaria's support for this initiative», — Svyrydenko stated.
Additionally, she highlighted the importance of education in their bilateral relations.
"The teaching of the Bulgarian language in Ukraine will continue. This is a vital aspect of our mutual respect for national communities", — the Prime Minister added.
Svyrydenko also expressed gratitude to Bulgaria for its assistance in restoring Ukraine's energy infrastructure and for supporting the diversification of energy supplies.
