Strengthening Energy Security: Denmark and Ukraine Collaborate
During a meeting with the leadership of NEK «Ukrenergo», representatives of the Danish Energy Agency (DEA) explored ways to enhance the protection of energy facilities based on Ukrainian experience.
This was reported by "Ukrenergo" on Facebook.
"As part of the collaboration, the Danish side intends to study the Ukrainian response algorithm to attacks on the energy system in more detail, including preventive measures. Additionally, they aim to learn from «Ukrenergo» about restoring energy supply after complete/partial outages and prioritizing power supply for critical infrastructure," the statement said.
Specifically, Denmark plans to investigate the experience of dispatch management amid constant threats to both equipment and personnel, to proactively implement some response measures.
DEA representatives also expressed interest in the cyber protection of energy facilities and the development of digital solutions for informing consumers about enforced disconnection schedules. The Danish side noted that they are ready to share modern technologies in the fields of dispatching and IT that are already applied in their energy system with "Ukrenergo".
As reported, since July 1, Denmark has expanded military service to include women. The country also plans to gradually extend the conscription period from four months to 11 months by 2026 and increase the number of conscripts from about 5,000 now to 7,500 by 2033.
