Leaders Meet in The Hague: New Opportunities for Ukraine
At the NATO summit in The Hague, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a significant meeting with US President Donald Trump.
Zelensky emphasized Trump's leadership in the quest for a fair and lasting peace in Ukraine to end Russia's aggression. Ukraine supports the US initiatives for a ceasefire, but unfortunately, Russia shows no willingness to engage in dialogue, continuing its attacks.
The Ukrainian President shared information about two rounds of negotiations with Russian representatives in Istanbul, which ended only with a prisoner exchange and the return of fallen soldiers' bodies. He noted that Russia also handed over the bodies of its soldiers, some of whom had passports.
Zelensky informed about the front-line situation and the increase in Russian strikes on civilian infrastructure and people.
Discussing practical steps to strengthen the Ukrainian army, the presidents focused on enhancing the country's defenses. They agreed to continue cooperation with European partners.
The leaders also talked about possibilities for joint production of military equipment and electronic warfare tools.
Additionally, attention was given to the situation surrounding Iran. Zelensky pointed out that limiting Iran's cooperation with other regimes would positively impact security in the Middle East and affect peace in Ukraine.
