Ukrainian Delegation Meets European Partners Ahead of Talks
First Deputy Foreign Minister Serhiy Kyslytsia and Ukrainian delegation member Oleksandr Bevz held an important meeting with representatives from Germany, Italy, and the United Kingdom ahead of talks with the Russian delegation in Istanbul.
Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Heorhiy Tykhyi, reported this, as noted by "European Truth".
On June 2, Kyslytsia and Bevz discussed joint positions with European partners before the meeting with the Russian delegation.
Participants confirmed Ukraine's commitment to peaceful conflict resolution.
The Foreign Ministry spokesman emphasized that the agenda items were thoroughly reviewed, including a leaders' meeting, a complete ceasefire, and humanitarian initiatives to build trust.
It is worth noting that on June 1, President Volodymyr Zelensky approved the updated composition of the Ukrainian delegation for negotiations with Russia in Istanbul aimed at achieving a just peace.
As before, the delegation is headed by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, while Alexey Malovatsky, head of the International and Operational Law Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, has been removed from the list.
In his place, Andriy Fomin, Yevhen Ostryansky, and Yuriy Kovbasa have been added to the delegation.
On June 2, the Ukrainian delegation arrived in Turkey for the second round of negotiations with the Russian side, scheduled to begin around 1:00 PM Kyiv time.
