Ukraine has signed a contract with the German company Diehl Defence for the production of IRIS-T air defense systems and their missiles.
This was announced by Ukraine's Minister of Defense, Rustem Umerov.

The value of the agreement is €2.2 billion.
During a meeting with his German counterpart Boris Pistorius, a letter of intent was also signed regarding Germany's funding of the purchase of long-range weapons for hundreds of millions of euros.
Additionally, Umerov indicated that Germany will finance the purchase of medical equipment produced in Ukraine.
“Germany has committed to supporting investments in the Ukrainian defense industry and encouraging others to do the same, particularly in the area of air defense,” the Ukrainian minister noted.
He also expressed gratitude to Germany for its leadership and ongoing support for Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.
