Women's Advocacy for Ukraine on the International Stage
Representatives of the Ukrainian community from Estonia and Denmark took part in a democracy-focused event held in Truskavets.
The delegation was led by Vera Konyk, president of the Ukrainian Congress of Estonia, and Lesya Ihnatyik-Eriksen, head of the “Help Ukrainian Children” organization, along with Alla Kuchans, a member of the Leadership Committee.
This forum became the Ukrainian equivalent of the renowned democracy festival in Denmark, gathering leading experts and activists.
During the panel discussion titled “Women in Advocacy for Ukraine's Victory,” all participants spoke on the importance of women's voices in international politics, civil diplomacy experiences, and ways to engage international support.
Vera Konyk shared insights into the activities of the Ukrainian community in Estonia, discussing initiatives to cleanse libraries of Russian propaganda, support actions for Ukraine, campaigns for Ukraine's NATO membership, and assistance to Ukrainian prisoners.
Lesya Ihnatyik-Eriksen highlighted advocacy projects in Denmark, including campaigns to support the supply of F-16s, the return of deported children, and numerous events to support Ukraine.
The discussion also featured representatives from leading analytical and civic organizations. The panel was moderated by Oleksandra Romantsova, executive director of the Center for Civil Liberties.
Today, the delegation continues its work at the forum, participating in a discussion on “Cultural Diplomacy During War: The Art of Resisting Aggression,” where the role of culture and identity in resisting aggression and mobilizing international support is being discussed.
