New Military Assistance from the US and Investment Fund in Ukraine
The Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, stated that the new military assistance from the United States might play a key role in funding an investment fund for minerals.

Details: The Prime Minister elaborated on how the agreement between the US and Ukraine regarding natural resources could take shape.
In response to a clarifying question on whether new military aid packages are necessary for the fund to operate, Shmyhal confirmed this.
Quote: "This is an agreement to establish an investment fund in Ukraine with a 50/50 management share distribution. Contributions will be made in cash. The US side can also count new military assistance as a contribution to this fund.
It is implied that contributions to this fund will be in cash from both American partners and Ukraine, but also that new military assistance provided to Ukraine after signing this agreement can be counted as a contribution to the fund."
Details: The Ukrainian Prime Minister added that another crucial aspect of this agreement is that the United States acknowledges Ukraine’s contribution to global security, highlighting the importance of the Budapest Memorandum.
He noted that under the agreement, Ukraine retains control over all resources, and the infrastructure and natural resources are not part of or a condition for this fund.
"Ukraine will contribute 50% from new mineral royalties to this fund," he said.
