Educational Initiative: New Opportunities for Schools in Ukraine and the UK
In April 2025, the educational initiative began, connecting schools from Ukraine and the UK in long-term partnership projects focused on the theme of "The Joy of Reading".
The main goal is to promote cultural exchange, improve language skills, and develop cooperation between students and teachers from both countries.
It has been noted that the first participants included 15 Ukrainian schools and 15 British schools.
Over the period of 2025-2026, a total of 100 educational institutions will participate in the program – 50 from each country.
The second and third groups of partner schools will start their activities in the fall of 2025.
Partner schools will collaborate on educational projects for at least 4-6 months with the possibility of extension.
They will be able to utilize resources provided by the British Council and the National Literacy Trust of the UK, as well as their own educational materials.
The Ministry of Education emphasizes that participation in the program will help students and teachers from both countries to better understand each other’s culture, use English more actively in communication, and integrate reading into the learning process.
Teachers will have opportunities for professional development and qualification enhancement.
Ukrainian students temporarily in the UK will be able to maintain a connection with Ukrainian culture and education through this program.
The UK-Ukraine School Partnerships is a new initiative by the British Council funded by the UK Department for Education.
This program is part of the century-long partnership agreement between Ukraine and the UK and is implemented in Ukraine in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science.
