According to Reuters, European officials who have been in contact with Donald Trump's administration express concern over the absence of a clear plan for ending the conflict in Ukraine.

Details: The agency reports based on two unnamed European officials who recently spoke with Trump's team, stating that there is pressure on the negotiation group regarding Ukraine to achieve swift results.

According to Reuters' sources, this raises fears that the US may take steps that threaten not only Ukraine but also the European security architecture.

The agency's interlocutors noted that discussions with the White House did not provide them with reassurance, and they did not get the impression that the US has clear end goals.

Two senior Western diplomats who maintain contact with Trump's administration told Reuters that they believe Washington lacks a "clear plan" on how to proceed and what to do if Russia continues to delay.

"We sometimes hear conflicting messages from different parts of the administration. This adds to the sense that there is no real plan here," one diplomat told Reuters.

Additionally, the agency learned that the White House has not yet established a coordinated policy-making process regarding Ukraine.

"Contrary to standard practice, the National Security Council has held only one principals' meeting – a meeting involving all or most of the president's key advisors on national security regarding this issue," the article states.

Reuters also reported that certain actions and statements by US envoy Steve Witkoff concerning the resolution of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine faced criticism within the White House and among Republicans.

Moreover, media reports indicated that senior officials in Trump's administration have begun to acknowledge that the US may not achieve a peaceful agreement regarding Ukraine in the coming months due to new conditions set by the Russian side during negotiations.
