On Tuesday, April 1, the European Union provided Ukraine with a new financial tranche under the Ukraine Facility program.
This was confirmed by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, who stated that these funds are crucial for maintaining economic stability in Ukraine.
The total amount received under the program has reached 19.6 billion euros. Of the 3.5 billion euros received, 3.1 billion are concessional loans, and 400 million are grants.
Economy Minister Yulia Svyrydenko noted that funding became available after meeting all requirements outlined in the plan for the fourth quarter of 2024. In particular, Ukraine fulfilled 13 indicators related to aligning legislation with European standards.
In 2024, the G7 also agreed to provide Ukraine with a loan of 50 billion dollars, with funds sourced from frozen Russian assets.
It is worth noting that on March 20, the European Commission transferred an additional tranche of 1 billion euros to Ukraine.
The Ukraine Facility program, which commenced on March 1, 2024, provides stable funding for the recovery and modernization of Ukraine until 2027.
