Ukraine and Sweden Strengthen Critical Infrastructure Protection

The State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine has inked a Memorandum of Understanding with the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB), as reported by the State Special Communications.

The memorandum outlines a cooperative approach to scientific and methodological collaboration aimed at planning protective measures and enhancing the resilience of critical infrastructure, along with the exchange of experiences and best practices for improved security processes.

MSB Director Mikael Frisell emphasized Sweden's commitment to supporting Ukraine and readiness for comprehensive collaboration with the State Special Communications. “Protecting critical infrastructure from all types of attacks is essential for a resilient society,” he remarked, noting Sweden's interest in learning from Ukraine's experience.

State Special Communications Head Oleksandr Potii described the signing of the memorandum as a logical continuation of discussions with Swedish counterparts. “This is especially relevant during wartime... We are keen on exchanging experiences with Sweden and are ready to share our own insights,” Potii stated, expressing gratitude to Sweden for its support.

Sweden to Provide Ukraine with $113 Million Air Defense Systems

In February, Sweden decided to provide Ukraine with air defense systems valued at 1.2 billion Swedish kronor, which is approximately 113 million US dollars.

Representatives of the Swedish government announced the possibility of revealing information about the procurement of air defense assets worth 1.2 billion kronor for subsequent provision to Ukraine.

Sweden is considering sending troops to Ukraine to participate in post-war peacekeeping missions, stated Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson.
